In August of 2024 Shelby was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the retromolar trigone.
She underwent a major surgery at KU Medical Center due to the location and potential aggressive nature of the cancer. After the grueling surgery, she started radiation therapy at KU Med as well.
It was a long, scary road, but she is now a year cancer free and everyday we are thankful for that!
