Thyroid Cancer
Dennis worked for Sonoco for over 42 years, he loved playing softball, bowling, boating, and camping. He married the love of his life and his best friend, Julie and was devoted to her for 36 years.
Cancer Council of Reno County helped him with his truck payment, hotels when seeing his oncologists and food. They took the stress off of him so he could focus on his fight. He fought a hard battle. At times we weren’t sure he would pull through. He surprised us in 2025 and was cancer free.
In June of 2026, he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. They found that the cancer had returned, and he would ultimately succumb to this dreadful disease.
Thyroid cancer is not the winner in this fight. Dennis is no longer in pain; he is cancer free and he is at peace.
Cancer Council of Reno County gave him more time with his family than he would have had, and for that I am eternally grateful!
